If you’re a skydiver and you’ve been relocated to Ft Lewis or McChord Air Force Base, one of the first questions you’re probably asking yourself is, “Where’s my new drop zone?” If you’re a first time skydiver considering making your first jump, you’re probably wondering what your options are.
Well good news skydivers and future skydivers, in spite of the sometimes less than hospitable weather here in Western Washington, this area is home to some amazing dropzones, including one world class dropzone.
Skydive Kapowsin – 45 Minute Drive from Fort Lewis
By far the largest dropzone in the state- Skydive Kapowsin boasts a Super Twin Otter and a Grand Caravan in addition to their smaller aircraft. If you’re an upjumper or a student looking to do multiple jumps- this is definitely a place to check out. Beautiful views of Mt. Rainier and the Puget Sound make jumping here a pleasure.

Skydive Toledo- 1 Hour Drive from Fort Lewis
The smallest of the three, Skydive Toledo still offers a large variety of jumping options in a small town, comfortable atmosphere. Also, the views of the mountains at this dropzone will blow your mind! Regularly running A Cessna 182 and a 206, the have visiting specialty aircraft in the summer.
They also offer Tandems, AFF, and IAD instruction for students.
Skydive Snohomish- 1.5 Hours Drive from McChord AFB
Skydive Snohomish operates out of Harvey Field. The views from this dropzone include the Puget Sound as well as the nearby City of Seattle. For upjumpers, jumping at this friendly DZ is a real treat.
Students can make Tandem or Static line jumps.
