It’s a mere 30 minutes from the gates of JBLM to the gates of The Puyallup Fair in Downtown Puyallup. Today is opening day, and if you get down there between 10am and noon, admission is free!
One of the top 10 fairs in the world, The Puyallup Fair is the largest annual attraction in the state of Washington, and a real tradition for people growing up in the area. It has everything a fair should have. From delicious scones to rodeos and animals. From terrifying rides to great country music. You haven’t been to a fair until you’ve “done the Puyallup.”
This year, the Puyallup Fair is going from Friday September 9th to Sunday September 25th. The Fair’s hours are 10am-10pm, except for Friday and Saturday night when they go till 11pm. Admission is $11 for adults, $9 for kids 6-18 and Seniors over 62. Kids 5 years old and under are free.
Everyone knows that getting to The Fair can be a bit of a traffic nightmare without careful planning. Puyallup is a small town and the fair is a huge event. The people at the Fair have worked hard to mitigate this, however. Here is a link to their driving directions page, as well as info on how to bus it in.
